How To Download Green Button Data

Accurate utility bill analysis is crucial for a successful power purchase agreement. By understanding current use, we can accurately optimize system size, tariff and post solar savings. Within the California Investor Owned Utilities (SCE, PG&E and SDG&E) we have made it easier to upload utility bill information using GreenButton® data. The upload process is simple, accurate and streamlines the workflow as we evaluate potential projects.

Instead of needing and entering 12 complete bills for each meter, now users only need one example bill (to check for credits and local taxes), and a csv or xml file with 12 months of GreenButton® interval data. Users will log into Wiser and reference their example bill in order to enter the correct utility rate and any applicable fees. Then, they simply navigate to their GreenButton® file and click “upload”.

While the upload process is the same for SCE, PG&E and SDG&E the download process is slightly different depending on that utility’s website integration with GreenButton®. In each case the user will log into their utility account, navigate to “GreenButton® Download My Data” and then choose 12 full months of data range to download.

We are excited to offer this streamlined process to our users and know that it will allow for an even better evaluation of potential projects.
